Introduction to our school
Drumnigh Montessori Primary School is a private, child centred, parent run, non-denominational primary school catering for children aged 3 to 12 in Donaghmede. The children are taught using the Maria Montessori methodology, which means each child learns at their own pace in multi age classrooms.
The school was established in 1962 by a group of parents in Raheny before moving to Drumnigh House in Portmarnock, where the school got its name. The school has been operating from Donaghmede for almost 15 years.
In Montessori, the teachers are known as Directresses and we have three Lead Directresses and five assistant directresses. Our school caters for up to 66 children and our staff and student body are represented by 15 different nationalities.
