Governance
Drumnigh Montessori was founded as an independent, co-educational and multi-denominational school in 1962. It is governed and administered by a Board of Management, made up of existing parents of the school. As a private school, without religious patronage, Drumnigh Montessori Primary School is not in receipt of state funding and relies entirely on fees and additional fundraising to finance the school. We are a registered charity and not for profit and as such all fees go towards resourcing the school. As we participate in the ECCE scheme, parents can avail of this grant for eligible children for up to two years.
As an independent parent run school, we have the freedom to determine the future of the school in close collaboration with the teaching staff and wider parent community.
Board members are elected at the AGM, which is occurs at the end of the school year. Our current Board of Management is
