Background

Drumnigh Montessori Primary School has been educating children on the North Side of Dublin since 1962 when a small group of parents decided to get together and educate their children through the Montessori method of education.  The school began in a house in Raheny before moving to Drumnigh House in Portmarnock.  The school has outgrown its previous premises and currently we use three classrooms in St. Columcilles School in Donaghmede.

Drumnigh is a small private non-denominational  primary school on Dublin's Northside that educates children from 3 up to 12 years old.  Currently we have 35 pupils and the school comprises one 3 - 6 class and one 6 - 9 class with our first 9-12 class opened since Sept 2009. At present our fees are 315 euro per month (10months) or 3145euro per year. We adhere to a strict teacher pupil ratio of 1:15 Max.   Drumnigh offers an alternative primary education in a three dimensional/concrete environment. We encourage parents to enrol their children from age 3years (pre-school year) into our first class (3-6years). Completion of these (3-6class) three years advances the pupils to an equivalent level of senior infants.

A board of management made up of parents manages the school. Over the years the school has gained a reputation for providing the highest standards of education.

The national school curriculum is fully covered while the Montessori method of education is used. Our school is a registered AATI (Association AMI Teachers of Ireland) and an accredited IMEB (Irish Montessori Education Board) school.
